You are welcome among Friends. Wellesley Friends Meeting is a Meeting (congregation) of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). We gather for Meeting for Worship at 26 Benvenue Street, Wellesley, MA every First Day at 10:30 am. Wellesley Friends come together from many towns in the Greater Boston area. We worship together in a community that welcomes all ages, backgrounds, gender identities and orientations.
What to expect at Meeting for Worship on First Day when we are able to meet in person. We are currently meeting virtually. Click on the links to the right for connection information. We practice what we call waiting worship - in which we expectantly wait together in silence to become aware of the Spirit's movement within our hearts, teaching and guiding us. Sometimes people are moved to share that inspiration with the whole group as a spoken message. A Friend at the door will greet you and invite you to take a seat in the Meetinghouse. Children join us for the first 15 minutes and then leave for play activities. (See the Religious Education page for information on our All Ages Religious Education program, which happens before worship.) After an hour, the greeter invites Friends to share joys and sorrows, introduce themselves, and hear general announcements. We gather after worship for coffee and fellowship.
