Spiritual Nurture and Pastoral Care Faithful Action Area

  • Cultivates Spiritual Development
  • Deepens our relationships through by sharing through worship.
  • Provides opportunities for everyone to participate in Meeting with a clear vision of how everything fits into the whole.
  • Encourages young people to explore and question.

Community Spirituality Cluster

  • Coordinates AARE, First Day School, Young Friends, Adult Religious Education
  • Sets theme and curriculum for First Day School and religious education on Sunday.
  • Responsible for teacher resources and children's book collection.
  • Works with and guides the Young Friends program and encourages youth empowerment (14-18).
  • Plans Second Hour presentations.  Encourages meeting members and clusters to plan presentations.

Ministry and Counsel Cluster

  • Responsible for the spiritual growth of the Meeting and enhancing religious life and fellowship of the members.
  • Oversees Quality of Worship
  • Provides Pastoral Care
  • Responsible for Greeters including scheduling and training.
  • Supports Norfolk Allowed Meeting.

Spiritual Leadership Cluster

  • Carry out spiritual leadership role.

Gifts and Leadings Cluster

  • Engages with members and attenders to discern gifts and leadings.
  • Invites participation in the various Faithful Action Areas and Clusters of the Meeting.

Fellowship and Community Faithful Action Area

  • Deepens our relationships by sharing through work and social occasions.
  • Engages all ages in the Meeting life.
  • Is actively connected to wider Quaker community.
  • Uses channels of communication that connect us with each other and our neighborhood.
  • Cherishes every community member.
  • Is a more diverse community.
  • Is a greater presence in our neighborhood and community.

Communications Cluster

  • Bulletin Boards

Hospitality Cluster

  • Prepares, serves, and cleans up coffee and tea after Meeting for Worship.
  • Prepares juice and snack trays for First Day School classes.
  • Oversees receptions as needed, such as holiday meals, memorial services and weddings.  Occasionally assists outside groups.

Outreach and Membership Cluster

  • Handles membership matters, including outreach to WFM Wider Community of Friends.
  • Organizes outreach and follow-up to visitors, new attenders, college students, neighbors, etc.  with a constant eye toward diversity.
  • Conducts clearness process for those interested in membership.
  • Recorder: Keeps official membership records of Meeting, including all transfers, weddings, births & deaths.  Annually sends such statistics to NEYM.

Fellowship and Community Programming Cluster

  • Plans intergenerational events to support fellowship and community.
  • Organizes Crones and Cronies lunch.
  • Plans and assumes responsibility for the Meeting retreat (if there is one).

Library Cluster

  • Purchases, catalogs, and organizes all books, AV materials and encourages their use.

Quaker and Wider World Connections Cluster

  • Encourages and coordinates Meeting's relationship with Puerto Padre (WFM's Cuba Sister Meeting).
  • Partners with New Covenant Church.
  • Supports our involvement with the New Covenant Church in Waltham through CMM membership.
  • Supports Quaker links to Wellesley Friends Meeting: FWCC, FUM, FGC and Salem Quarter, augmenting, not replacing, our representative relationships.

Archives Cluster

  • Collects and maintains old Meeting records.
  • Forwards records to New England Yearly Meeting archives.

Witness and Service Faithful Action Area

  • Is an agent of change in the greater community.
  • Is engaged in social justice work.
  • Is actively connected to wider Quaker community.
  • Represents WFM as a Quaker presence and voice in activites in the larger community.
  • Maintains the urgency of our witness.

Quaker Action for Racial Equality

  • Educate and inform:  Seeks to lead the WFM community in taking positions and actions around issues of racial justice.
  • Offers the WFM community opportunities for service and advocacy in several areas of racial justice.
  • Has an obligation to witness for peace to the larger Friends community and to people at large.

National and International Conflict Cluster

  • Seeks to lead the WFM community in taking positions around issues of violence and conflict.
  • Has an obligation to witness for peace to the larger Friends community and to people at large.

Immigration and Refugees Cluster

  • Educate and Inform: Seeks to lead the WFM community in taking positions and actions around issues of immigration and refugees.
  • Offers the WFM community opportunities for service and advocacy in several areas of concern regarding immigration and refugees.
  • Has and obligation to witness for peace to the larger Friends community and to people at large.

Philanthropic Distribution Cluster

  • Makes recommendations to the Meeting for the use of Meeting funds for Quaker and other non-profit groups.

Social and Economic Inequality Cluster

  • Offers the WFM community opportunities for service and advocacy in several areas of concern regarding social and economic inequality.
  • Keeps the Meeting informed of activities and any need for support.

Stewardship Faithful Action Area

  • Is accessbile to all.
  • Is transparent.
  • Practices sustainability as a Meeting.
  • Engages the Meeting through input, discernment and involvement to answer the query: "How do we keep our worship community vibrant and healthy in financial and material terms to support our spiritual home?"

Finance Cluster

  • Reviews the financial records of the Meeting at the end of the fiscal year.
  • Prepares annual meeting budget after consultation with clusters and the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer.
  • Invests Meeting funds in accordance with Quaker principles.

Development Cluster

  • Organizes fund raising and development within the Meeting.

Building Systems and Grounds

  • Discerns priorities for maintenance and takes responsibility for the maintenance of the Meeting House: property, building, heating system, furnishings, care of grounds and driveway.
  • Supervises the duties of the caretaker.
  • Identifies and oversees BSG capital improvements approved by the Meeting.
  • Purchases, maintains, schedules, and operates AV equipment.
  • Provides technical support for WFM website, telephones, and email.

Child Care and Safety Cluster

  • Oversees paid and volunteer childcare providers according to the Minute on Child Safety.
  • Provides childcare as needed on Sundays and for other events as arranged.
  • Conducts Safety Training for childcare workers and volunteers.

Personnel Cluster

  • In accordance with the Personnel Policy:
    • Hires the employees of the Meeting and caretakers.
    • Is a conduit for salary and benefit changes, leaves of absence, and other communication related to employment.
    • Maintains up to date job descriptions.
    • Provides a sounding board and understanding ear for employees.
    • Oversees hiring and terminations.
