Worship to Remembrance Martha Gordon
Rescheduled to Eleventh Month, 19 at 7:30pm
We will gather in a Zoom online Meeting to remember Martha. The Zoom link and some instructions are included at the bottom of this page.
Friends Meeting for Worship is conducted according to the principle that the Light of God lives in each of us. We sit together in silence, listening to the Spirit within and among us. There is no minister to guide us, and each of us contributes to the worship. Most often, this contribution is silent; your worshipful presence and unspoken prayers and memories are as important to the quality of our worship as is the vocal ministry. Sometimes, however, someone may be moved by the Spirit to share a message with all of us. This message may be a prayer, memories, words of comfort to the family and friends or lessons we have learned from her life. We ask that no one speak for the first 10 minutes or so, while we gather in a period of worshipful waiting. After that, we welcome those who feel moved by the Spirit to speak. (Be sure to “Unmute” yourself before starting to speak, or no one will hear you!) Please allow a few minutes of silence between each message to allow time for reflection. After about an hour, the host/greeter will break the Meeting by welcoming you. Following the close of the Meeting for Worship, attenders will be assigned randomly to breakout groups of 4 to 6 people to give us further opportunity to share our memories and love of Martha. Whenever you need to leave, you can click the red “Leave” box. |
