Oversees the following areas: the Meeting's monthly Bulletin Board, the Meeting's monthly Newsletter, the Meeting Room's use, the membersŐ and attendersŐ list, the website, and the Meeting's e-mail notification to Meeting members. Meets two or three times a year as needed.
Encourages and coordinates Wellesley Friends Meeting's relationship with Puerto Padre Friends Meeting in Cuba, our Sister Meeting through New England Yearly Meeting's Puente de Amigos (Bridge of Friends) with Cuba Yearly Meeting (CYM). Sponsors programs with visiting Cuban Friends, sending correspondence and material aide to CYM, and travel to CYM as part of New England Yearly Meeting groups.
Is responsible for preparing annual Meeting budget after consultation with committees, notifying members of financial needs, raising funds, and looking after other financial matters.
Prepares, serves, and cleans up coffee and tea after Meeting for Worship on Sundays; prepares juice and snack trays for First Day School classes; prepares, serves, and cleans up simple lunch before Meeting for Business (one Sunday per month during winter months). Oversees Christmas lunch in December and Meeting picnic in June; oversees receptions as needed, such as memorial services and weddings; and oversees meals when the entire Meeting eats together. Occasionally Hospitality Committee members serve
groups outside the meeting.
Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the Meeting House, furnishings, care of grounds, and driveway. Arranges for a caretaker(s) to live in the Meeting House apartment and supervises their duties.
Makes recommendations to the Meeting for the use of income from invested funds. Receives suggestions any time, but actively solicits recommendations before each of its semi-annual reports.
Has general oversight of the Meeting library. Is responsible for purchasing, cataloging, organizing, and entering all books and pamphlets on computer. Encourages use of all library materials.
Has primary responsibilities for membership matters including outreach to distant Friends and selection and conduct of Clearness Committees for those interested in joining the Meeting. With a concern for community building, the committee sponsors such programs as Wellesley Wednesdays, Friendly Partners, and a luncheon for Wellesley College students interested in Quakerism. Annually publishes the Meeting directory and sets guidelines for the use of the Meeting building by members and outside groups. Limited to Meeting members.
Has as its primary function the spiritual growth of the Meeting and the enhancement of the religious life and fellowship of the members. Is concerned with the quality of our worship, especially vocal ministry. Concerned with the welfare of every member and attender and is available for counsel. Meets monthly and is limited to Meeting members.
Responsible for selecting and nominating members and attenders to the various committees of the meeting, keeping in mind rotation of membership and particular interests and strengths of members. It nominates members and attenders to fill vacancies during the year and it reports to the April or May business meeting.
Supports the involvement of Wellesley Friends in our Meeting's relationship with the New Covenant Church of Cambridge through the CMM (Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries) Urban-Suburban Partnership program. Offers consultation to Meeting committees that want to include the New Covenant Church in their work. Plans a few activities for the Meeting as a whole. This committee meets on an as-needed basis.
Has two main foci -- one to influence national and international policies and to alert Meeting members to those issues, and the other is to move in a more prayerful direction and support peacemaking efforts wherever it can.
Responsible for organizing the religious education program for the young people in the Meeting. Currently there are six First Day School classes. Each group has at least one coordinator who is responsible for organizing the teaching units for the teachers in his or her group. The coordinator organizes the units according to the framework approved by the committee to ensure that content matches the stages of development in young people. By using the curriculum plan, the committee hopes to achieve coherence in the First Day School program. Each coordinator also attends monthly committee meetings to discuss the progress of his or her group.
Begins meeting monthly in January to plan the retreat for the following autumn. Responsible for planning all aspects of the retreat and program, including assigning people to housing, budgeting and collecting money, and planning the adult, children's, and Young Friends' programs, evening programs and entertainment. In September, finalizes and executes arrangements for the retreat (shopping, transporting goods, etc.). At the retreat, provides administrative and direct support to the retreat program and events.
Primarily involves the Meeting in ongoing projects in areas of hunger and homelessness with groups such as the Wellesley Volunteer Coalition, Rosie's Place, Oxfam, and the American Friends Service Committee. Identifies new community needs and works to respond for the Meeting.
Arrange for childcare whenever needed.
Attends the monthly meetings of Cooperative Metropolitan Ministries, an urban/suburban coalition. Keeps Meeting informed of relevant issues.
Occasionally writes traveling minutes, epistles, or other meeting correspondence.

Keeps Wellesley Meeting informed of Friends Committee on National Legislation concerns.
Acts as a liaison between the Life Experience School and the Meeting.
Keeps overall Meeting calendar and transfers dates to the public calendar.
Gather Meeting news and handle all necessary details in printing the newsletter which is composed and distributed the first of each month (except July and August) to all members, attenders, and other people as requested. Newsletter includes the Meeting calendar for the month with notices of special events, committee meetings, and items of general interest.
Attends meeting and worships at the prison. Anyone is welcome.
Attends all Yearly Meeting Nominating Committee meetings and participates in job of filling New England Yearly Meeting committees and boards.
Keeps official records of Wellesley Meeting including all transfers, weddings, births and deaths. Annually sends the statistics to New England Yearly Meeting.
Takes the minutes at business meeting each month.
Oversees all religious education activities and class coordinators.
Salem Quarterly Meeting Representative and Yearly Meeting Representatives
Commit to participate in the respective business sessions of these organizations on behalf of Wellesley Meeting and report back to the Meeting.
Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and Auditor
Self explanatory.
Represents our Meeting on their Board and attends their sessions, occasionally reporting back. Church Women United has three public meetings a year.
Has representatives from houses of faith in Wellesley. Examples of work include the Interfaith Thanksgiving Service and the calendar of religious observances distributed to the Wellesley Public Schools.
Represents Wellesley Meeting at monthly lunch meeting.
Represents Wellesley Friends Meeting in a group of volunteers from different churches and Wellesley town departments to deal with local public housing concerns with a special focus on Barton Road. The Coalition meets monthly.
Works with and guides the Young Friends program, encouraging youth empowerment. Needs commitment and enthusiasm for students, aged 14-18.
